Bring Climate on Board

What is your Company's Business Strategy on Climate Change?
There is an urgent need to address climate challenges. This requires governments and businesses to accelerate the transition to new business propositions and economic systems which are in line with the Paris Agreement - to keep global temp below 2°C.
Corporate Supervisory Boards have a role and obligation to stimulate and guide their organizations towards a sustainable and climate resilient future.
Long-term business models that incorporate climate action and other planet related challenges like biodiversity and circularity, needs to form part of a company's business strategy.

"The sense of urgency to act on climate change is growing in the boardroom. But what are business opportunities next to the risks? How can you help the boardroom identify and act on opportunities and risks? Chapter Zero NL empowers you to lead the boardroom discussion, helping transform ambitions to plans and action."

- Gisella van Vollenhoven (President Chapter Zero NL) -

What is Chapter Zero Netherlands?

Chapter Zero Netherlands is the Dutch Chapter of the Climate Governance Initiative (CGI), an initiative in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, mobilizing boards of directors around the world to urgently address the topic of climate change in their businesses. Currently the network is active in over 50 countries with 2500 members. At least 230 companies in the FTSE350 have at least one Chapter Zero member on their board.

Building on the World Economic Forum’s Principles for Effective Climate Governance, our ambition is to empower and support supervisory board members in the Netherlands on the opportunities and risks of climate change and other planetary challenges and its consequences on corporate businesses. Our goal is to build a large community of Supervisory Board Members who stimulate and inspire each other  to take the desired actions in their own organisations.

On 29th of March 2023 the Netherlands Chapter is launched with an event at the Koninklijke Institute of the Tropen. The founding Partners are Deloitte, Baker McKenzie, and the University of Groningen.
